Drafting & Design Technologist

  • Your contribution to this team will include collaborating with project coordinators, engineers, designers, drafters, and clients to develop detailed drawings as well as assist in 3D mechanical and structural steel modelling.

    Individuals with 0-5 years of experience and the following skills will be strong candidates for the position:

    • completion of a 2- to 3-year drafting or CAD design technology program

    • experience working with AutoCAD and/ or Autodesk Inventor software

    • knowledge about detailing for fabrication

    • industry experience in mechanical design and/or structural steel and steel fabrication

    • ability to develop conceptual sketches and models

    • careful attention to detail when creating drawings and in all other matters of work

    • confidence to directly communicate with engineers, tradespeople, and operators through verbal and written methods

    • ability to think independently and take initiative

    • desire to relocate to the West Kootenay region and work out of the Trail, BC office

    Starting wage will be between $22 and $30 per hour depending on skills and experience.
