Isaac Saban
Chief Executive Officer, P.Eng
Isaac joined I/O Design in 2005 as an EIT and the ownership group in 2009. Over the past 20 years he has helped the company grow from 2 employees to 15 through the introduction of new technology, diversification of services and long-term client relations. He has a passion for improving engineering solutions, developing creative solutions to unique and challenging problems faced by industry. Shortly after starting at I/O Design he was involved in implementing the use of 3D design software and led the process of implementing 3D scanning as a routine part of I/O Design’s workflow. It is Isaac’s objective to develop a deep understanding of the project requirements and to deliver the greatest value and efficiency possible throughout the engineering, fabrication and execution process.
When Isaac is not immersed in I/O Design he spends time riding mountain bikes, skiing (hopefully with his kids) and tackling large carpentry projects.

Calvin Hendriks
Designer, P. Eng
Calvin began his career in the field, first as an apprentice Millwright working in several industrial settings including a machine shop and heat-treating facility. He then transitioned to a maintenance position working on mechanical systems including pneumatics, heat exchangers and furnace equipment. This hands on experience led him to the Engineering Physics program at UBC where he completed his studies to became an EIT. Upon graduation he designed hydraulic steering systems and power units for a variety of watercraft ranging from tugboats to coast guard ice breakers. Calvin joined I/O Design in 2018, bringing both his technical design and hands-on fabrication experience that allow him to come up with solutions that simply make sense. Calvin recently obtained his professional designation.
When Calvin isn’t busy solving our clients’ challenges, he is often exploring the outdoors and camping with his children, capturing the vastness of space through his telescope, or enjoying a board game with friends.
